A couple of farmers lived in this little house and we found these people to be kind; when we had a house built in what was the barn at the time, we said of this little house: "I'm going to see Marie". Even the "red tail" birds came to nest there every year; we realized that they had taken possession of the place, to our great delight. "Chez la Marie" has therefore become a very pleasant gîte in the heart of Périgord. The buildings with thick walls, exposed stone and bricks, combine the charm of the past with modern comfort. Many tourist sites nearby (Sarlat, a medieval city with an exceptional heritage; Montignac, the International Center for Parietal Art Lascaux 4 and prehistoric sites of the Vézère Valley; Périgueux, a city of Art and History; Château de Beynac, Castelnaud, Hautefort, etc.) and marked hiking trails.
