Description of the accommodation

Located between Cholet and Doué La Fontaine, come and stay at La Gaucherie Aux Dames, in Montilliers. Comfortable cottage with magnificent, unobstructed views of the countryside: calm, soothing environment surrounded by nature. The site is built on the ruins of a castle and a convent, which became a farm and tourist accommodation.

This stone building has a particular charm thanks to its large open fireplace and its beautiful wooden beams. Inside, you will find a 30m² living room with dining area for 6 to 8 people, lounge with sofa, armchairs and television. In the adjoining kitchen, you will never tire of admiring the view during breakfast or while cooking!
On the ground floor there is also a master suite with 140x190cm bed, bathroom with shower and toilet. A second bathroom with WC is on the ground floor.

Upstairs, a small mezzanine serves the 9m² sloping bedroom (17m² on the ground). Available: 1 bed of 160x200cm and 1 bed of 90x190cm. On the other side of the mezzanine, a small room of 8m² on the ground could be pleasant for children with 2 90x190cm beds available.

Outside, enjoy a private garden of approximately 250m² with covered courtyard, garden furniture, barbecue, deck chair and swing. From the garden, you will have a view of the small pond and the fields. You can come across horses, sheep, cows on the property... Hiking trails, mountain biking and horse riding nearby.

In the surrounding area, the Bioparc de Doué la Fontaine is 20 minutes away, Saumur is 40 minutes away, Angers is 45 minutes away, Puy du Fou is 50 minutes away. Also worth visiting: Camifolia in Chemillé, the Parc Oriental de Maulévrier, the Musée des Métiers in Sevremoine, the vineyards of Anjou-Saumur and the Layon valley.

The cottage is located in a complex with the owners' house, 4 tourist rentals in total and the agricultural operation (sheep, cultivation of flower seeds and strawberries). Gather up to 12 people on site! (see references H49G015038 and H49G018872, adjoining Logis du Lys).

Access: Coming from Angers, before the village of Montilliers, take direction Valanjou. The road turns and goes down, crossing a river. After the bridge on the left, La Montée. At the next crossroads, turn left to take Vihiers. 500m on your left. Go down after the two large pillars. Coming from Cholet: Take the Le Voide exit. After the castle at the small roundabout turn left, Le Voide, Thouarcé. At 500m when the road forks, turn right, direction Machelles, Thouarcé following the river. Follow the river for 3-4 km until you reach a rise crossing a small wood. At the top of the hill it is signposted La Gaucherie aux Dames. Go down after the two large pillars and you are there! Coming from Saumur, head towards Doué la Fontaine/Vihiers, then Montilliers. Leaving the village of Montilliers, head towards Valanjou. The road turns and goes down, crossing a river. After the bridge turn left, La Montée. At the next crossroads, turn left to take Vihiers. 500m on your left. Go down after the two large pillars. Longitude -0.529066 and Latitude: 47.179209
