Located in the heart of the Lys valley between Cholet, Angers and Saumur, the small gîte de la Gaucherie aux Dames is located in the town of Montilliers in Maine et Loire.

Ideal for a stay as a couple or a family with children, this small independent single-storey house is located in a complex bringing together the owners' house and 2 other gîtes. They will be delighted to share with you the history of this place, a former castle turned farm, as well as their commitment to the social and solidarity economy.

The cottage consists of a living room with dining area, an equipped kitchen (gas hob, microwave, oven, etc.), a bathroom with shower and WC, a bedroom with a 140x190cm double bed and a living room with sofa and television also serving as a sleeping area with its two 90x190cm single beds.

During the summer period, you can enjoy the outdoor space with your garden furniture and stroll around the property, where there are also guest rooms and another gîte, to admire the view of the Lys valley (small river flowing into the Layon then into the Loire) and discover the sheep and horses in the surrounding meadows. The ruins and moat (unsecured) of the old castle are also part of the landscape as well as a hiking trail.

Possibility of purchasing local products from the property's permaculture during the summer (once/week). The closest shops are located in the town of Vihiers, 6 km away.
