Description of the accommodation
2 hours from Lyon and 1h30 from Clermont-Ferrand, perched at an altitude of 1100 meters and nestled in a green setting, is the village of Le Vernet!
Here, time seems to have stopped, the village with its stone houses evokes the villages depicted on old postcards! The surrounding nature is preserved, calm reigns, making you want to take the time to live far from the daily hustle and bustle...
It is in this magnificent setting that Mr. Capo has magnificently renovated "le clos de la Durande", this group of buildings is composed of his house and the Peyra Taillade cottage.
On site: Multiple hiking trails for walks, bike rides or snowshoe hikes, observation of fauna and flora, finally it is the ideal observation place for astronomy enthusiasts!
A little further: The Allier gorges with many white water activities, the village of Saugues where you can discover, among other things, the legends of Gévaudan....
A little further still: The town of Puy en Velay and its many buildings listed as UNESCO heritage sites (half an hour's drive), the town of Brioude known, among other things, for its famous watercolor biennial and its basilica with remarkable architecture. The entrance to the cottage is through a shared courtyard of 300m2.
On the ground floor is the living space, this very bright room is nicely arranged around a central wood stove. It consists of a functional kitchen with full equipment and a cozy lounge area. Further back you will also have a toilet.
Upstairs are: two bedrooms, the first has two 90 cm beds and the second has a 140 cm bed; a bathroom with walk-in shower and finally a second toilet.
Information about the cottage:
Gîte adjoining the owner's home, shared courtyard.
No washing machine specific to the cottage but possibility of using the owner's machine.
Included in the price: bed linen, electricity, and possibility of loaning 4 mountain bikes.
In addition: Cleaning option €50 Electricity included in the prices within the limit of reasonable consumption: 16Kwh per day maximum.

Arriving by the RN88 or the RN102 follow Chaspuzac, then Vergezac and finally take the direction of Vernet. Arriving in the village take the first right, the cottage is just opposite the town hall.
