The terrace overlooks the entrance to the quiet Las Mesas park with a small playground further down.
Further on you can see the fitness, tennis and padel complex ‘Las Mesas’. Those who like to play padel or tennis can do so 100 meters away.
Additional facilities:
From the apartment you can take the elevator 2 floors up and you arrive to a platform of more than 800 square meters with stunning views over Estepona, the clear blue sea to the Rock of Gibraltar.
There is a kid’s pool, and a 20 meter long pool to swim laps. Sun loungers and parasols are freely available.
The complex has its own gym with large windows overlooking the sun terrace and swimming pools where people enjoy a swim and, above all, some rest.
The swimming pool is open all year long (from 8 am to 9 pm, rest time from 2.30 pm to 4.30 pm).
The whole place exudes tranquility.
Close to everything, everything within walking distance:
From the apartment, it is only a 5 minute walk to the port with nice restaurants and a little further the bay / beach of Estepona. On Wednesdays, there is a market in the street nearby and on Sundays, there is a market at the harbor.
Nearby is the former bullring where bullfights no longer take place but it is a historic place for cultural events.
At 2, 3 minutes, there is a grocery store open 7/7 until late, a shop where you can buy delicious roast chicken and fries, a pharmacy, some catering establishments.... The grocery store offers fresh bread.
A little further on there is both a Lidl and a large Aldi. Walk in the other direction, there is a nice Dias supermarket. Everything is close by for those who want to cook.
There is also a large hypermarket Carrefour on the other side of Estepona about 3 kilometers away.
Estepona:
This town, with flowers in just about every street, exudes atmosphere and charm. During the day, but certainly also in the evening. Restaurants, stores and boutiques that are often open until 10 o'clock in the evening invite you to an evening out. You eat elegant tapas and pint of beer or more extensive at the Plaza Flores, the rooftop terrace of El Pilar, at the tables that are set up at night in the many streets and squares ... Or some hipper tapas at ‘El Bulla’, highly recommended by the way.
Eating out is usually a lot cheaper than in countries like Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany, France or the Scandinavian countries. At the beach there are restaurants where fresh fish or meat is baked on charcoal.
The old town is just a mile from the apartment, so it's perfect for walking. You will experience very nice evenings here, after a day of sports, sunbathing, talking, reading or just napping.
The region:
Estepona borders Marbella and The New Golden Mile. Not overbuilt, lots of greenery, squares, embankment and streets that are perfectly maintained.
This is perhaps the most beautiful part of Spain. In the distance you will see the rock of Gibraltar and to its left you can see the coast of Morocco in the distance.
By car or public transport, Malaga is easy to reach (an hour away), a lively city filled with culture, a beautiful harbor, countless stores, restaurants... a city that leaves a lasting impression especially in the evening.
What a dike:
From the apartment you can walk to the harbor and immediately onto the dike ... You can walk and bike very far, right along the sea. The chance that you will suffer from thirst is small, because along the dike, there are numerous terraces.
A different rhythm:
It is possible to eat throughout the day. Sleep a little longer, eat at 3 or 4 in the afternoon... it's perfectly possible.
Climate:
320 days of sunshine a year...
That makes this apartment a pleasant place to be all year round, even in months you didn't think of right away - October, November, December, January ... April, May ... it’s all lovely.
Airport:
The closest airport is in Malaga, just around 50 minutes away from the apartment. You can take a cab or rent a car with which you can also explore the wider area.
Reception at the apartment:
The apartment was bought by a television producer from Belgium who bought it to allow his adult children to visit from time to time. He and his family are crazy about the Andalucia and live a few streets away for a large part of the year. The apartment was decorated by them in a very cozy Boho style, in a way that they themselves liked. The apartment can be rented during times when it is not occupied by the family.
That is why it does not feel like a classic rental apartment. Rather, arriving there will feel like 'coming home'.
